Mouthwatering cooking with a hint of travel and a dash of culture are the tasty ingredients served up by BET’s new cooking and lifestyle programme, Africa on a Plate.
Host and head chef Lentswe Bhengu, and guest host Zama Memela will get your tastebuds working overtime as they travel the length and breadth of the continent on a culinary journey that introduces viewers to the glorious food culture of Africa.
Whether it’s learning about Nigerian street food, exploring the spice history of Zanzibar or delving into the Souks of Marrakesh, Lentswe and Zama stop at nothing in their quest to explore the diverse flavours and textures of the continent.
While hunting down exotic ingredients or being inspired by people along the way, Lentswe and Zama cook by the side of the road, in the bush, and in the cities they visit before returning home to serve up their own interpretations of the dishes they have encountered.
And double-helpings are on the menu – as Africa on a Plate runs two episodes back-to-back every Saturday.
A cooking show like you have never seen before - don’t miss the intriguing new cooking and lifestyle programme on BET (DStv channel 129) Saturday 5 November at 17:15 CAT.
